Speed skating is an Olympic Sport played between individuals or teams of three on an ice rink where competitors race over a set distance using ice skates. The ice rink is usually 400 meters long in an oval shape, with two lanes for competitors to race within. Various distances are used for the race, and sometimes the competition lasts for multiple races, each with different lengths. The individual or team who has the shortest time over all of the races wins.
