Short track ice skating is an Olympic Sport played between individuals or teams on an ice rink where competitors race over a set distance using ice skates. The ice rink is 60 meters long, but the race can be over various distances, from 500 m up to 3,000 m. When a relay format is used, the races are usually 5,000 m long for men and 3,000 m long for women. The individual who has the shortest time wins the race.
