Sailing is a sport where teams race on water using a wind-powered boat with a sail. Various kinds of boats can be used, from small dinghies to large yachts. In match racing, two boats compete to beat the other to the finish. In team racing, two teams of three boats race to have the lowest overall time to the finish. In fleet racing, large numbers of independent boats race to have the fastest time over a series of races, called a regatta.
