Pesapallo is a game played between two teams of nine players on a field with four bases in a zig-zag formation. One defensive player, the pitcher, throws a ball vertically in the air, which the batter attempts to hit with a round bat. If successful, the batter remains on the field with a chance to score. Games are divided into two periods, each with four innings, with both teams allowed one at-bat per inning.
