Nordic combined is an Olympic sport where individuals, wearing skis, compete in a combination of ski jumping and cross country skiing. Competition starts with the ski jumping competition, where participants use jumps covered in snow to perform aerial tricks. Judges award them points based on takeoff, airborne tricks, and landing. Higher scores result in a larger head start over other competitors in the cross country skiing section. In this section, participants race to be the first to complete a level, snow-covered track.
