Freestyle skiing is an Olympic sport where individuals, wearing skis, perform aerial tricks on snow-covered tracks. In the ski cross discipline, participants race together to be the first down a slope that includes jumps. In the disciplines of aerials, ski half-pipe, moguls, and slopestyle, individuals attempt to perform tricks while in the air, using jumps made from snow to get airborne. The disciplines differ in the size, type, and number of jumps used. Judges give participants scores based on takeoff, airborne tricks, and landing.
