Cricket is a game played between two teams of eleven players on an oval grass field, with a rectangular pitch at the middle. One defensive player, the bowler, throws a ball at the offensive player, who attempts to hit it with a flat bat. If successful, the batter has the chance to run to the other end of the pitch to score runs. An innings ends after all eleven players from the offense bat, when the defense bats. Games can have one or more innings for each team.
