Bobsleigh is a sport where teams consisting of 2 or 4 individuals race down an ice-covered track using a metal sleigh. The tracks are artificially designed to have many twists and large, banked turns and are 3,900 to 4,300 feet long. The teams take turns racing through the course; the team with the fastest combined time over all races is the winner. Competitions are often decided by as little as a fraction of a second, requiring winning teams to be mistake-free.
