Badminton is usually played by two individuals or teams of two on an indoor court with a net five feet high dividing it in half. The goal is to score points by hitting a shuttlecock (a small, feathered projectile) with a cord-strung racquet over the net onto the ground of the opposing side's half. Each side is only allowed to hit the shuttlecock once before it must go over the net. Games are generally played to 21 points.
