American football is played by two teams of twelve players and involves moving an oval ball into the opposing team's endzone in order to score touchdowns worth six points each. Each team has four attempts, or downs, to move the ball at least ten yards up the field, which, if accomplished, results in four more downs. The ball can be moved by passing or running, and the defensive players must stop the other team by tackling the player with the ball, resulting in a physical and exciting game.
